It's worth mentioning that the risks were much higher for these men when these images were taken. There were no laws to protect them from losing their jobs or being kicked out of their housing, merely for being homosexual or for engaging in these sexy, sometimes raunchy films and photos. There are still more places where LGBTQ+ folk and sex workers are discriminated against than there are places where they can live and love as they choose.
